When Shakespeare imagined ambition's darkest corners, he created Macbeth — a tale of power, prophecy, and paranoia that has haunted audiences for four centuries. When Verdi set it to music, he created one of opera's most electrifying and emotionally devastating works.

Commanding baritone Craig Irvin and dramatic soprano Kara Shay Thomson portray the original power couple — two souls who reach for a crown and lose everything in the bargain. Their blood-soaked rise and descent into madness is rendered in music of terrifying beauty, from the witches' chilling prophecies to Lady Macbeth's devastating sleepwalking scene. Directed by Keturah Stickann with a vision of spectacle and grandeur that brings Shakespeare's dark Scotland vividly to life.

Macbeth opens Eugene Opera's landmark 50th anniversary season — a fitting choice for a milestone year, pairing one of theater's greatest stories with one of opera's most powerful scores.

Conducted by Maestro Andrew Bisantz, with the Eugene Opera Orchestra and Chorus bringing Verdi's score to life with full dramatic force.

The Hult Center is located at One Eugene Center, Eugene OR 97401. Main lobby entrances are off 6th and 7th Avenues, with the ADA accessible ramp on the 6th Avenue side.

Parking

Parking Garages

Two parking garages are near the Hult Center and available for event parking at $10 per vehicle, cash only. The parking garage connected to the Hult Center has entrances off 6th Avenue and Olive Street. The sky bridge entrance is off the 3rd level. Handicapped placard holders do not have to pay for event parking. Handicapped spaces are located on the east side of the parking garage, near the elevators.

The Parcade is located across 7th Avenue from the Hult Center and has entrances off 7th Avenue and 8th Avenue. Parking passes for use in the Hult Center parking garage can be purchased in advance, online and at the Hult Center Ticket Office. 6 parking passes can be purchased for only $50 – it’s like getting one parking pass for FREE. Having a parking pass does not guarantee availability in the parking garage. Please arrive early to ensure parking is available. Parking is limited, and when multiple events are taking place, may not accommodate all guests.

Additional Parking

Additional parking within walking distance can be found in the Diamond Parking lots located at 8th & Olive, 7th & Olive, 6th & Willamette, 5th & Charnelton and 5th & Pearl. Street parking can also be found around downtown Eugene and is free after 6:00 PM.

Alternate Transportation

The LTD downtown bus station is located three blocks from the Hult Center. Taxis can pick up/drop off at either the 6th or 7th Avenue entrances.
