La traviata

Music by Giuseppe Verdi

Libretto by Francesco Piave

What would you sacrifice for love? Although Violetta is a highly visible figure on the Parisian party scene, she masks a deadly illness. When Violetta finally meets her true love Alfredo, she forced to face the reality that her position as a courtesan imposes. Rather than ruin his prospects as a gentleman, she chooses honor, with devastating consequences.

Eugene Opera brings grand opera to the stage with Verdi's La traviata. A sumptuous production will dazzle audiences with this tale of doomed romance in opulent Paris.

The cast features a combination of exciting international artists and exceptional talent from the Pacific Northwest and features the Eugene Opera Orchestra and Chorus.
