Ivy Zhou
“Sparkling high soprano” (Opera News) Ivy Zhou is active in the Pacific Northwest as a performer of opera and sacred music, and sought-after voice instructor. Most recently, Ms. Zhou made her role debut as Marie in La Fille du Régiment with Kitsap Opera, and sang the second soprano solo in Mozart’s Great Mass in c minor with Music at Epiphany, where she also serves as a soprano section leader.
Company credits include Seattle Opera, Nashville Opera, Opera Columbus, Opera Bend, and Portland Opera. She is thrilled to be returning to Eugene Opera after appearing as Gretel in spring 2024! Favorite past roles include Marie, Ming (Stuck Elevator), Musetta, Adele, Queen of the Night, Gretel, Nella (Gianni Schicchi), the Rose (The Little Prince) and Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro).
In conjunction with her singing career, Ms. Zhou teaches voice lessons through her private studio and in partnership with two prestigious programs in the Seattle area: the Lakeside School and Roosevelt High School.
She lives in North Seattle with her husband and two fluffy cats, Josie and Berlioz.
