Ivy Zhou

Soprano

Soprano Ivy Zhou performs with opera companies across the country and is active in the Seattle area as a church singer and private voice instructor.

Most recently, Ms. Zhou was seen performing Adele in excerpts of Die Fledermaus with the Northwest Sinfonietta. Last June, she had the pleasure of premiering three new works with Seattle Opera’s Creation Lab. The 2022-23 season saw her as Mrs. Lee in Tacoma Opera’s world premiere production of Tacoma Method, Ming in the operatic world premiere of Stuck Elevator at Nashville Opera, Fraulein Silberklang in Opera Bend’s The Impresario, Tisbe in Opera Columbus’ La Cenerentola, and Adina in Opera Unbound’s The Elixir of Love.

Upcoming roles include Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus and Gretel in Hansel and Gretel, both in her debut season with Eugene Opera. This spring, she rejoins the Seattle Opera School Tour as Francine in Monkey and Francine in the City of Tigers.

She is a regular staff singer in the acclaimed Epiphany Parish of Seattle choir, and a voice teacher and assistant musical director at Roosevelt High School, one of the premiere musical theatre programs in the state. Aside from singing, Ms. Zhou enjoys antique jewelry, art museums, cuddling with her cats, and good food.
