Alyse Jamieson

Alyse Jamieson is an Oregon-based mezzo-soprano praised for her expressive and stylistic interpretations of dramatic roles and concert repertoire. As a soloist, she has performed with orchestras and ensembles around the US and Europe, specializing in early and chamber music. Recent operatic roles include Giovanna in Rigoletto (Eugene Opera), Annina in La Traviata (Eugene Opera),  Isabella in L'italiana in Algeri (UO Opera), Bradamante in Alcina (UO Opera), Carmen in La Tragedie de Carmen (UO Opera), Ruth in Pirates of Penzance (Opera Notre Dame), Dido in Dido and Æneas (Opera Notre Dame), Dorabella in Cosi fan Tutte (South Bend Lyric Opera), Alisa in Lucia di Lamermoor (Eugene Opera), Miss Todd in Old Maid & The Thief (Cascade Concert Opera) The Hunter in John Blow’s Venus & Adonis (Oregon Bach Festival),  Cornelia in Giulio Cesare in Egitto (UO Opera), and Zita in Gianni Schicchi (University of Northern Colorado Opera Theatre).

Alyse loves singing in ensembles like True Concord Voices & Orchestra (Tucson, Arizona),  The Oregon Bach Festival, OBF Musicking Festival, Vox Resonat, UOCC, and several cantor positions at churches throughout the US and Europe--notably the Basilica of Sacred Heart at the University of Notre Dame, Eugene Central Lutheran Church, and Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in South Bend Indiana.

Alyse holds degrees from The University of Oregon and The University of Notre Dame, where she studied early and sacred music extensively while working with the Notre Dame Children’s Choir. Alyse is a DMA student at the UO. She has taught private voice and the undergraduate lyric diction sequence at UO in addition to two years at Willamette University.
