Willow Jade Norton

Director

Willow Jade Norton is an Oregon-based theatre director and teacher with a focus on new work development, theatre for young audiences, and community engagement.

Her plays find the intersection of exquisite theatricality, clever narrative and authenticity.  Most often through a generative process with several lead artists or an ensemble; she strives to amplify minority voices and bring about collective listening in her community through theater.

Willow has directed in Seattle, New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Corvallis, and Eugene.  She is a founding Board Member of ArtCity Eugene, and recently co-curated The Umbrella Project.

As a Teaching Artist, Willow has worked at Lane Community College, Imagine That Eugene, The Village School, Stages for Corvallis High School, ACE Academy, Majestic Theatre, Philadelphia Young Playwrights and Washington Academy of Performing Arts.  Willow is a Certified Teaching Artist for Tectonic Theater Project's Moment Work Technique. Also recently awarded the 2019 Colleen Toohey Porter Fellowship from Theatre for Young Audiences.
